Vehicular Crash Left Two Dead

July 26th, 2008 Author: Ben Glass

According to the Virginia State Police, a June 21 vehicular accident resulted in the deaths of two men and left another with personal injuries.

On the evening of the crash, Petersburg residents Eric Robinson, 29, James Phillips, 39, and Kevin Carter, 32, were northbound on Route 680 slightly less than 2 miles north of Route 681.

State police say that shortly after 10 p.m., a 1996 Honda Accord overturned after running off the right side of the road into a water-filled ditch.

Robinson and Phillips were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and Carter required transport to Southside Regional Hospital, though Virginia State Police Sgt. Tom Cunningham says his injuries weren’t life threatening.

Robinson and Carter were wearing their seatbelts, but Phillips was not.
