Three car accident in Roanoke

On the morning of May 25, a three-car accident on I-581 in Roanoke resulted in two people receiving transport to

Memorial

Hospital for the personal injuries they suffered.Virginia State Police Sgt. Matthew Brannock says that fortunately, the injuries aren’t life-threatening.

According to Brannock, the accident took place at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes just south of

Orange Avenue

. He said that the crash was caused by one vehicle trying to change lanes and striking another vehicle. A third vehicle was merging onto the Interstate at the same time as the crash and was also involved.

After the crash, two lanes of the interstate had to be shut down for approximately 20 minutes.
