Q: I talked to a personal injury attorney who I saw advertised on TV. I was in an accident where the defendant rear-ended me. The attorney wanted to charge me a contingent fee of 40% of the recovery. Is this normal?

A: In my view, a contingent fee of 40% in a car accident case is ridiculously high.
