A recent case out of Richmond Virginia demonstrates once again that just because an insurance company says “no” does not mean that they won’t end up paying. In a case reported in a local newspaper an illegal alien who did not have a drivers license but who was given permission by his employer to drive the company truck got drunk and killed two people. The insurance company who ensured the employer first said that the driver did not have permission to use the truck. It turned out however that this unlicensed undocumented employee had been issued company credit cards a cell phone and was routinely allowed to drive his truck both on-the-job and for personal use.
After stonewalling for many months the insurance company finally paid larger settlements to both families.
